BLUE CHALK CONCEPT
Fronted by an airy patio and intricate wrought-iron gates, the Blue Chalk Cafe's split level building is a historic landmark designed in 1927. The restaurant features a sky-lit space, a dramatic central staircase, robust fireplaces, and authentic Southern folk art. Together, they provide a warm, festive atmosphere ideal for gatherings and celebrations. The Blue Chalk Cafe's cuisine is an updated version of the "comfort food" you might have seen years ago on an old southern estate. In his interpretation of Southern classics, our executive chef, Jorge de la Torre uses only fresh, natural ingredients, including organic vegetables, fresh-baked bread, and free range chicken. Our two bars serve a variety of micro-brewed beers, fine wines, and Southern specialty drinks. Drawing on our event planning expertise and wide range of menu offerings, we will work with you to create a perfect meal, reception, or other function. We can provide amenities such as: balloons, flowers, audio/visual equipment and special order cakes to make your event an unique experience.
SEMI-PRIVATE ROOMS
We are pleased to offer four unique areas for your exclusive use:
Perched on either side of the central staircase and overlooking the main dining room, the Mezzanine Lofts offer a vantage point from which to fully enjoy the colorful, festive environment of the Blue Chalk Cafe.
The Lofts seat up to 100 people, providing a space ideal for large sit-down functions and parties.

Reminiscent of an old English inn, the downstairs Pub is an appropriate setting for more intimate dining. Exposed beams, plank-wood floors, a private bar, and a roaring fireplace combine to create a warm, comfortable atmosphere. This room is ideal for rehearsal dinners, celebrations, and small meetings or functions.
The Pub can accommodate 35 seated, or 50 for cocktails. The Pub can be rented for $100.00 during the day and $250.00 at night.

Located on the highest mezzanine level of our restaurant, the Shuffleboard Room provides a spacious setting perfect for large receptions, appetizer and cocktail parties, or casual dinners. For an active dining experience, two televisions, a shuffleboard table, and an adjacent Dartboard Room are available for your use.
The Shuffleboard Room can accommodate 45 seated, or 75 for cocktails. The Shuffleboard room can be rented for $100.00 during the day and $250.00 at night.

An extension of the Mezzanine Lofts, the Upstairs Bar is an ideal venue for a cocktail party or reception. Like the Mezzanine Lofts, the Upstairs Bar overlooks the main dining room and allows full enjoyment of the Blue Chalk's spirited atmosphere. The Upstairs Bar is available for your use with the Mezzanine Lofts and/or the Shuffleboard Room.
The entire upper level of the restaurant, encompassing the Upstairs Bar, the Mezzanine Lofts, and the Shuffleboard Room, can accommodate 100 to 200 guests, depending on the event.

You may host informal gatherings in our billiards table areas. The billiards area can be reserved for smaller cocktail or appetizer parties. Billiard tables can be rented for $12 per hour per table.

To help you organize your event, we have created sample menus that, highlight the best of our Southern-inspired cuisine and can be served at either sit down or buffet events. Following the sample menus is a complete list of our menu items and descriptions. We will work with you to design a menu that meets your specific needs. We can personalize your menu with a salutation for your group or event.

APPETIZER/COCKTAILS
For appetizer and cocktail functions we offer the "Appetizer Reception" menu served buffet style. The price for the entire menu is $21.00 per person, for $18.00 per person we offer the entire menu with the exception of the starred (*) items.

The sample menus enclosed are templates that allow you to choose a two or three course meal. You may choose items from the appetizer (3 choices), soup and salad (2 choices), lunch plate (3 choices) or dessert (2 choices) menu lists. You may choose any combination of courses.
